Custom Shaft Manufacturing for single and twin-screw extruders. We maintain tight tolerances on length, diameter, and straightness to ensure optimal torque transfer and alignment. We reverse engineer and machine new spline, geared, drive, thrust shafts for many Gearboxes that we repair in our Gearbox Repair Department.

The performance of a precision shaft is dictated by its base material. We don’t just “order steel”āwe source specific alloys suited for high-torque and high-wear environments, ensuring full traceability with Material Test Reports (MTRs).
High-Torque Alloy Steels:Ā 4140/4340: Our go-to for drive shafts requiring high fatigue strength and toughness.
Nitralloy 135 Mod: Preferred for shafts requiring extreme surface hardness (via nitriding) while maintaining a ductile core to prevent snapping under shock loads.
Corrosion-Resistant Alloys:Ā 300 & 400 Series Stainless: Critical for polymer extrusion components handling corrosive resins or wash-down environments.
17-4 PH: For applications needing the corrosion resistance of stainless with the high strength of an alloy steel.
Tool Steels & Specialty Metals:Ā D2, H13, P20, Inconel, Hastalloy: Utilized for specialized shaft ends or components subjected to extreme heat and abrasion.
Technical Processing:Ā Stress Relieving, Heat Treating, Nitriding, Plating, Precision Grinding.
