This quality inspector job puts you in charge of inspection at a busy job shop. You will own it from first article to final check. You will measure parts on our Keyence XM-5000 portable CMM and with hand tools, write the reports, and keep the drawing revisions straight. You will work directly with the machinists and with the owner on quality.
Most of what we make is one-offs and short runs: shafts, housings, extruder parts, gearbox components and large parts up to 170 inches long. Because the CMM is portable, a long shaft gets measured where it sits. No two days are the same, and the prints are real engineering prints with real GD&T.
Every part is checked against the print before it ships. Customers ask for material certs, first article inspection and inspection reports, on our form or on theirs. You will be the person who makes that happen, and the person the machinists come to when a print is unclear.

You need: inspection experience in a machine shop, strong blueprint reading and GD&T, and confidence with precision measuring tools.
Nice to have: first article inspection experience, CMM programming, experience with ITAR work.
